Healthy Living Tips

Not everything that can improve our health requires a major change in diet, an exercise program, or a new medication.

Sometimes small things we do every day can make a difference—taking a walk in nature, getting up from a chair more often, using breathing to calm ourselves, or changing the order in which we eat our food.

I created this section to collect practical ideas I have come across in my reading and research. Some have strong scientific evidence behind them; others are promising but less certain. The emphasis is on things that are simple, inexpensive, and easy to try.

I'll explore ideas ranging from walking in nature and gratitude journals to cold showers, breathing exercises, drinking water after waking, and even the order in which we eat our food.

You certainly don't need to do all of them. The idea is to find a few small changes that fit easily into your life and might make it a little healthier—or simply more enjoyable.
